« Registering for COMED-KList of Ranks »
Permalink 10:22:50 am by Felix, Categories: The Exam , Tags: , , , , , ,

Just like CET there is no negative marking in the COMED-K exam and the pattern of the exam is such that the first papers will be Physics and Chemistry in one paper itself. This paper will have 120 questions and will be divided into 60 question for Physics and 60 for Chemistry.

Follow up:

The time allotted for the entire question paper is 2 hours (120 minutes). The Biology/Maths exams will happen during the second half of the day. The answer sheets are OMR sheets so the students should be extremely careful in marking their answers. Each correct answer will fetch the student 1 (one mark) and in case there is a tie then the accuracy will also be taken into account to decide upon the ranks of the students.

In the event that two people have scored the same number of marks and are on the same rank then the tie will be broken using various methods known as the Inter Se Merit. In this system the following procedure is used to determine the ranks of the candidates:

1. The primary method will be judging the accuracy of the candidate where the candidate with the higher accuracy (infrequent intervals of incorrect answers) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or any other eligible optional subject will get the higher rank.
For example if two candidates have scored 51/60 but candidate A has attempted 60 questions and gotten 9 answers wrong whereas candidate B has answered 53 questions and gotten only 2 wrong then the higher rank will be awarded to candidate B.

2. The candidate with the higher aggregate marks in Physics and Mathematics will be awarded the higher rank.

3. The candidate with higher marks in Mathematics will get the higher rank

4. The age of the candidate can also be used and the elder candidate will be ranked higher than the younger candidate.

5. In case the rank is being calculated for candidates applying for a seat in a medical college then the candidate with higher marks in Biology will get the higher rank
