  • The circulation is the mechanism by which blood is circulated around the body.
  • The circulatory system consists of the HEART, BLOOD and BLOOD VESSELS.
  • The heart pumps the blood and blood vessels carry the blood.

Follow up:

There are two types of heart.

A)Tubular heart – Heart in which separate chambers absent to receive and pump blood. It is   
found in invertebrates.  

B)Chambered heart – Heart which contains separate chambers to receive and pump blood is called chambered heart..

There are two types of chambered heart

A) Venous heart – Heart which receives and pumps only deoxygenated blood is called venous heart. It is found in fishes.

B)Pulmonary heart – Heart which receives and pumps both oxygenated and deoxygenated blood is called pulmonary heart. It is found in birds and mammals

There are two types of circulatory system

A) Open type – In this type the blood circulates in the body cavity. The blood vessels are absent. It is found in Arthropods.

B) Closed type – In this type the blood circulates in blood vessels. It is found in annelids and chordates.
